    I was first introduced to Mahlasela’s music in the 90’s by my mother. For her generation, his music was anti-colonialism, and anti-apartheid (South Africa). Today, Mahlasela, still soothing, still inspiring, sings a different, yet similar tune. Known as “the voice” in South Africa, his music is full of hope from that apartheid rubble, but also for those struggling for freedom around the world. Yes, you Egypt, Tunisia, Jordan. And Gabon
